Celina Baljeet Basra is a curator, writer and and art mediator currently based in Berlin. Celina has recently been part of the team of 10th Berlin Biennale – KW Institute for Contemporary Art e.V. (Associate Editor & Art Mediator, 2018) and Curator of the Berlin art space Galerie im Turm (2015-2017).
Previously, she has contributed to a research project focusing on the Interrelated Dynamics of Display and Situation within Aesthetic Reflection (Freie Universität Berlin, 2011-2014) and worked with artists, galleries and museum spaces in Berlin and New Delhi. Celina has gained a certificate in Curating from Universität der Künste Berlin and graduated in Art History in a Global Context at Freie Universität Berlin (MA).
Ever since she examined Alighiero é Boetti's One Hotel in her Master's thesis, her curatorial thought and practice have been shaped by Boetti's idea of ping-pong, understanding each art work as a shared experience; working not just in a dialogue, but a polylogue.
