The cooperative model of Shanghai Curators Lab features multi-end communication, collaborative cultivation and common progress, which is beneficial and has reference meaning.
Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts will remain true to the original aspiration, and be dedicated to nurture the art talents of the new generation with global vision.
Yongwoo LEE
Lead Professor, Shanghai Curators Lab
Artistic Director, Shanghai International Art City Research Institute
Shanghai Curators Lab provides a platform for the exchange and cooperation among young curators around the world, where they can not only learn theoretical knowledge, but also improve themselves through curatorial practice, and expand their horizons beyond the curatorial dimension, such as music, big data etc.
Shanghai Curators Lab will be a long-term program, running annually. We will continuously invite experts from various fields to the Lab for sharing, rather than confine to a small area of architecture and design.
CHEN Zhigang
Project Manager, Shanghai International Art City Research Institute
The win-win collaboration between Shanghai Curators Lab and the culture landmark in Shanghai has brought the curatorial practice closer to reality. SAFA aspires to stronger interaction and consociation with various kinds of art and culture entities to facilitate the cultural and artistic advancement in Shanghai.
Sam Bardaouil & Till Fellrath
Lead Professor, 2nd Shanghai Curators Lab
Founders, artReoriented
The participating curators manifested a strong sense of community, teamwork spirit and intense desire of mutual support, with the aspiration of building links between China and the world, artists and the public, as well as galleries and communities. We are looking forward not only to the realization of these proposals next year, but also more professional cooperation with curators in the future to make our society better with art and creativity.
QIAO Zhibing
Art Collector, Founder of TANK Shanghai
We were torn among the three projects as they are unique in different ways. It is expected that these curatorial projects with multiple perspectives will inject new impetus into TANK Shanghai, promoting the cultural content construction.
