Merit Zimmermann is an independent researcher, curator, and writer. She completed her BA (Hons) in Culture, Criticism, and Curation at Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London) and her MSc in Sociology of Culture, Media, and the Arts at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her research interests fall into fields of art history, sociology, and the humanities, including cultural, curatorial, media, urban, museum, heritage, and tourism studies. She has presented scientific papers at scholarly and industry conferences, published texts in academic and journalistic media, and held various positions within the arts and culture sector. Currently, Merit works freelance for galleries, museums, cultural organizations, start-ups, agencies, and magazines, while hatching her dissertation idea on ‘curating cities’.
