Ragnar Thomas OD works with artists and others in the production of exhibitions, publications, contracts, working groups, and raves. He is currently a research fellow at Monash University Museum of Art, where he is conducting original research on the Melbourne-based art and therapy group Rosebud (1983 - 1995). A publication on the topic is being published with Surpllus in January 2024.
Ragnar has realised projects with Artists Space, the New Museum, CAGE and American Medium (New York), with Hothouse, Supernormal, Endless Return, National Gallery Singapore, NTU CCA (Singapore) and with Liquid Architecture, Surpllus, Asbestos, and UnProjects (Melbourne), among others. Subject areas of past projects are diverse and have included studies on improvisational and experimental music in Southeast Asia, the economic history of property in Australia, expanded Catholic theology and aesthetics, artist film and psychoanalysis.
He received his his MA in Museum Studies and Curatorial Practice from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 2021 and his BFA in Fine Arts from Parsons: The New School for Design (New York) in 2017.
Outside of art proper, Ragnar is also involved in Group Relations, a field for theory and practice involving the psychoanalytic study of organisational life.
