11.07 On the Ideas of 12th Shanghai Biennale and Beyond

Cuauhtémoc Medina, the Chief Curator of the 12th Shanghai Biennale, will introduce the curatorial concepts and work experience of this programme in the lecture, including the interpretation of the current double theme from the various levels of art, society, history and politics, as well as detailed thinking on the decomposition and composition of the curatorial concepts. At the same time, as a curator and art historian who was mainly active in Europe, America and Latin America, how can he gradually observe the development of Chinese contemporary art in the past year, accumulate thinking, and finally show the particular environment responds to some extent of China and Shanghai by exhibition. Thus, the main goal is to achieve local relevance to the exhibition.
