11.29 Generous Art Histories

For the last 18 years the Asia Art Archive has been dedicated to contributing to a more generous art history through the collection, creation and sharing of knowledge on the recent history of art from Asia. The three words in our name, "Asia", "Art" and "Archive" denote a vast field and set of disciplines. Through case studies from our research collections, this talk will consider how they open up and speak to some of the core lines of enquiries that shape what it is we do and why we do it with a particular focus on what we refer to at AAA as, Complex Geographies.
