Helena Lugo

Helena Lugo (b. 1989, Mexico) is an art historian, independent curator and book editor based in Mexico. Her curatorial practice delves into fictions, absences, indetermination places and spaces that create alterities in order to think the way reality is signified, established and represented. She is currently Chief Curator of Palmera ardiendo, Cuernavaca, Morelos; an independent collective. Among her recent exhibitions are Letting Light Pass Trough, Chalton Gallery, London, UK (2019), The City Atlas, MMAC Juan Soriano, Cuernavaca (2018), Mientras Desaparezca, LADRÓNgalería, Mexico City (2017); de regreso a la isla, Casal Solleric, Palma de Mallorca, Spain (2016) She is editor of the publication A Return to the Island (Mexico: 2018) and co-founder of the curatorial collective n/R (never Ripe/ never Rotten) along with Francesca Altamura and John Kenneth Paranada.
