Working across the seemingly distant grammars and material realities of craft, fine art, mathematics, and science, Dain Oh's curatorial interest is in devising a strategy that could level these hierarchized categories-such as craft-in comparison to fine art to empower peripheral subjects from the mainstream narratives of history.
Recent projects include Limit Cycles: Materials, Torques, Intervals (2019) with artists Tauba Auerbach, Sabrina Gschwandtner, Joan Jonas, Josiah McElheny, Victor Pasmore, and Andrea Zittel at CCS Bard Galleries, Clean Lines (2019), Ilana Harris-Babou's solo exhibition at Broadway Windows, 80WSE Gallery, and CCS Recollection 1: The NetLetter (2019), a collaborative publication for which she conducted an interview with artist Yuji Agematsu. Oh was a curator at Gallery LVS & LVS Craft in Seoul (2010-2017) working closely with Korean craft artists and curating public projects such as Gangnam Mediapole (2009-2011) and ASYAAF (Asian Students and Young Artists Art Festival) (2011-2015). She currently works as a curatorial assistant to artist and curator Tiona Nekkia McClodden.
She holds a BFA in Film, Video, and New Media from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and an MA in Curatorial Studies from Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College.
