11.07 How to Make It Happen - On 12th Shanghai Biennale

As the general coordination of the project of the 2018 12th Shanghai Biennale, the speaker will give a complete introduction to the preparatory process of this programme: from the work of the parties involved in the project, to the process of artists selection, and to the various preparations for the local implementation of the work, as well as the specific issues that need to be managed in a particular socio-political environment. At the same time, the lecture will also cover the changes of Shanghai's contemporary art ecology in the past seven or eight years. The main goal is to further interpret the significance of the 2018 12th Shanghai Biennale for the city, and to share more ideas about the roles played by the Biennale in today's cultural production with the audience.
