Margarita Leonenko

Margarita Leonenko is a curator who gets lost in the wonders of creative fiction as a method for finding critical voices, styles of writing and poetic expression.

She is currently pursuing an MA in Visual Cultures, Curating and Contemporary Art at Aalto University in Finland, shaping her practice within the field of curating, managing and mediating art. Besides working as exhibition attendant at The Alvar Aalto Pavilion of Finland and at the Research Pavilion in Venice Biennale 2017, she served as curatorial contributor for the project at the Research Pavilion, "Access to Utopia. A public program for a space that does not exist, yet".

She is a member of 'we need to talk' collective organized and facilitated together with Vanessa Kowalski & Ana Fernandes. Their inaugural issue is 128 page publication, printed in an edition of 200, and features contributions made by artists, curators, and cultural workers who are based both in Finland and abroad, and centers on the idea of the interview as an artistic and curatorial medium and as a tool for creative production. It has been distributed to several libraries, reading rooms, and academic institutions across Europe, Australia, and the United States.
